The 80’s might have been the time of the “me” generation, but it was all about unity when it came to sleeves. Specifically, dolman sleeves. This style of sleeve formed a continuous connection with the torso of the garment. No stitched armhole needed.
The “bat-wing” dolman sleeves really made it look like you could soar through the air like some kind of nightclubby forest creature. They were the hottest thing in the 80’s, found on all kinds of tops - fashionable tops you could wear to the disco, of course, but also sweaters and everyday cotton sweatshirts.
