One cannot convey a sense of feminine fashion whilst looking like a truck driver. And looking back, it is a wonder that those ultra-wide belts with their huge buckles of previous decades ever caught on. Luckily, when the disco era arrived, the bulky belts of days past gave way to the more feminine design of much thinner, slinky belts. They offered a perfect accompaniment to the skintight fashions that were burning up the dance floor and put an end to the era of wide waist wear.

Now, those painted-on designer jeans could benefit from something as understated as a slim, eye-catching gold rope, that highlighted the tiny waist in all of its glory. Paired with some Candies disco slides and a tube top, these tiny belts afforded a luxurious look that was far more seductive and foxy than their wide-load predecessors.  And the fashion world rejoiced.
