Release History:

9/15/84 - 9/6/86 NBC/ABC
In 1984 Hanna-Barbera acquired the rights to the classic Pink Panther cartoons and tried to revive that franchise for Saturday morning audiences. To add new blood to the old stories, the animation studio gave the Panther an entire new entourage to hang out with, including two sons (also pink).

Teenage Pinky and toddler Panky looked just like dad except they could talk, while Panther père remained mute. Joining the trio of pinkness were other members of the Rainbow Panthers club, like girly Chatta, Rocko the jock, grouchy matron Liona and lethargic Murfel. The Pink Panthers routinely had to fend off the evil Finko the Fang who prowled around making mischief, aided by his inept assistant, Howl.

The new series failed to recapture Pink Panther's glory days and father, sons and the rest of the Rainbow club faded into obscurity after only a year on the air.
