With women's lib slowly simmering on the stove at the time, the series brought to life the everyday adventures of Joan Nash, wife, mother and newspaper columnist. Joan wasn't the typical suburban homemaker and enjoyed a successful career. Her work deadlines made for some harried moments around the house but she always had time for her family. Husband Jim and the couple's four sons may not have gotten pancake breakfasts every day of the week but they wouldn't trade busy Joan for June Cleaver even if they could.
The show starred Patricia Crowley and Mark Miller as Jim and Joan Nash and featured guest spots by Clint Howard and Bonnie Franklin. The quirky family graced the small screen for two seasons, airing about 60 episodes on NBC.
