Based on a comic book series of the same name, the animated WildC.A.T.S retold a familiar story: two alien armies battle for the source of ultimate power and poor Earth is caught in the middle. Why can't these people find another planet to sort out their differences?

In one corner, the Kherubim, six beings with superhuman powers, led by Lord Emp (a.k.a. Jacob Marlowe, his human form); in the other corner, the evil Daemonites, sworn enemies of the Kherubim.

Stranded on Earth, the Kherubim form Covert Attack Teams to fight the Daemonites. Their headquarters are located in Halo Enterprises, Marlowe's company and cover. Marlowe had appointed his bodyguard, a cyborg named Spartan, as leader of the main Covert Attack Team that included Zealot, teenage Voodoo, Maul, artificial intelligence Void, Warblade and Grifter, a human. All the Kherubim could switch back and forth between human and alien form except for Maul who always looked like a huge green guy with horns.

The Daemonites were led by Lord Helspont, a normal-looking guy if you looked past the flaming skull; they were formidable enemies that could literally crawl inside a person's mind and take over their body. Maximum creep factor there.

The move from comic books to kid-oriented cartoon necessitated some changes in the story and characters, like Voodoo's transformation from ex-stripper to innocent teenager. The plot was simplified somewhat to allow the story to unfold over 13 episodes, but rest assured, the Kherubim kicked Daemonite butt in the end.
