Release History:
9/13/92 - 8/27/94 ABC
The main denizens of the prairie were cows and they became the residents of Moo Mesa, the anthropomorphic animals' territory. Moo Mesa had its share of thugs and bandits, just like the Old West, and even featured corrupt leaders. It was up to the C.O.W Boys--Marshal Moo Montana, The Dakota Dude and the Cowlorado Kid--to keep peace and protect the law-abiding folks in Moo Mesa.
The three C.O.W. Boys lived by the Code of the West and often locked horns with Mayor Oscar Bulloney and Sheriff Terrorbull, the two corrupt officials who kept trying to exploit the bovines on the prairie. The Sheriff's henchmen, Saddle Sore (a scorpion) and Boot Hill Buzzard, tried to implement their boss's evil plans but usually failed due to their ineptitude.
Other characters in Moo Mesa resembled Old West figures, like Lily Bovine, owner of the saloon and Cowlamity Kate, a tomboy who had a crush on the Dakota Dude. After two years on ABC's Saturday morning lineup, the C.O.W. Boys hit the trail and rode off into the sunset.
