Willie Nelson
I remember packing into the back seat ( I had to be in the middle, ALWAYS) of either the '76 Gran Prix or the '68 Mustang, squished and flanked by my sisters.
Well, at least I got to sing good road songs, like "On the Road Again".
I can't count the number of times I've heard someone say something like " I don't like country music.. but Willie Nelson is allright" in casual conversation.
Willie transcends, no one genre can contain him. He is simply, American Music.

Seating Arrangement
When I was in 3rd grade we didn't have arranged seating, but, I was particularly disruptive one day and I had to move my desk all the way to the back of the room completely seperate from the rest of the rows.

Snow Days
Snow days in general were the greatest part of winter. I didn't mind being put to work as cheap child labor to help dig out... it was worth it to get a free day off school. Of course, after the shoveling was done it was time to play! Even if I didn't go to one of the local sledding hills, I'd at least dig some tunnels or build a snow fort, or the classic snowman.
But, you'd have to go inside to warm up sometime. Hot cocao, videogames and cartoons were the preferred indoor activities on a snow day.
I have one snow day that sticks out most in my mind though... because the heavy snow fell on a Sunday, but the city was still digging out Monday morning.
Dec 1, 1985 was the infamous Snow Bowl between the Green Bay Packers the The Tampa Bay Bucs. Only 19,856 were in attendance, with over 36,000 "no-shows," the most in Packers history. About 2/3 of the stadium was empty.Twelve inches of snow fell before the game and another four to five inches fell during the game.
Green Bay went on to dominate future Hall of Famer Steve Young and his Bucs to the tune of 21-0.
Sure it was cool the see the Pack get such a decisive win during an era when they were pretty medocre, but the thing thing abotu the day was that it snowed so much that there was no school the Monday morning after.

The Monkees
I "discovered" the Monkees when MTV brought them back in the late 80's, 1988 I think.
I fell in love. The GTO MonkeeMobile, the screwball comedy, and the music. I was hooked.
