BIO:
The 80's were definitely, without a doubt the greatest generation of all time. I was born in 1974. When 1980 came around I was 5-6 years of age, so I was old enough to remember the day and age of the 80's. The 1980's weren't perfect, but it was as close to perfection as we will ever get. The atmospheric environment was just so pleasant back in the day and it will probably never again be duplicated. I had the greatest childhood that anyone could have ever had. Christmas in the 80's was especially special. I remember how I would be the first one to wake up Christmas morning around 5 o'clock. I would wake my brother up and then quickly wake my parents up. I was outrageously excited and couldn't wait to get downstairs to see what Santa brought us. My parents would get up, Dad would grab his camera and all of us would go downstairs together to see what was under the Christmas Tree. My brother and I very enthusiastically opened our presents while Mom and Dad stood back with a huge smile taking pictures. One Christmas my parents bought me Castle Greyskull and a lot of He-man action figures. I played with that practically all day long. There was another Christmas where my Dad got me an Atari Entertainment System. Pac-man was the only game we had for it at the time. That was fine because we played that over and over and over again attempting to beat each other's score. I didn't even get to all of my other gifts until later on that day. My parents were so great to us! My Mom picked something up for me and my brother all the time. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and birthday's we were always presented with wonderful gifts. My Dad took my brother (Kevin) and I out all the time to go to the park, fly kites, the arcade and riding our bikes. Another great occurence back then was school. I loved going to private school. One of the things I loved about going to private school was of course my friends, but also the teachers. I learned a lot from my teachers. I certainly would not be the man I am today without their caring nature. They had a big part to play in my education. My favorite teacher was Mr. Lindo. He taught Bible class. I remember how before every class we always said a prayer. School was so much fun. As much fun as school was, school closings were funner. On snow days I was ridiculously happy to be out of school. On a typical snow day I would wake up early and have breakfast while looking at (in this order) I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie and The Love Boat. I loved those shows and unfortunately did not get a chance to catch them seeing how they came on in the morning and I was in school. So I really took advantage of being out of school on snow days. After I watched my shows. My friends and I would go outside and build a snow man, have snowball fights and ride down the hill on our sleighs. Afterwards, all of us would go back in my house and drink hot cocoa that my Mom had fixed for us. We would look at He-man and the Masters of the Universe, Silverhawks, Thundercats, Superfriends and plenty of other cool cartoons. Speaking of cool cartoons, Saturday mornings were the absolute best. Every Saturday morning (no matter how late I stayed up on Friday) I automatically woke up at 5:30am to start my Saturday's off. I remember when the 1960 Spider-man cartoon came on at this time. My Mom faithfully, every Saturday morning came into my room to watch it with me. She sometimes fell asleep, but that was okay because I knew how hard she worked during the week. From about 5:30am - 1:00pm I would be in front of the television. 7 1/2 hours worth of cartoons. I watched cartoons like: Mighty Orbots, The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, The Smurfs, Kidd Video, Spider-man and his Amazing Friends, Turbo Teen, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-woman, Going Bananas, The Wuzzles, The Littles, SchoolHouse Rock, Rubik the amazing cube, Captain Marvel, Shirt Tales, The Get Along Gang, Superfriends, Muppet Babies, The Snorks, CBS Storybreak Specials, Dragon's Lair, Dungeon and Dragons, Tarzan and the Super 7, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The Lone Raner, Zorro, Richie Rich and Mr. T to name a few were the greatest cartoons ever. Later on Saturday I remember watching my all time favorite show which is The Greatest American Hero. Small Wonder came on as well. That was a really good show. Saturday's nowadays are just soooo terrible. They don't have anything descent for the kids to watch. I really feel sorry for the children of this day and age. I wish they could have been witnessed to what I was witnessed to as a child. The 80's should go down in history as the greatest generation ever.
