1987's Saturday Morning's The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse Finally coming to DVD!
Posted: Tue Oct 06, 2009 9:03 am Central Time
Famed cartoonist Ralph Bakshi revived the Mighty Mouse cartoon character for a series of humorous and satirical adventures on Saturday morning TV back in 1987 and gave Mighty Mouse a true identity (Mike Mouse, a worker at Pearl Pureheart's factory), a new sidekick, new friends and new villians. This series is memorable and beloved as a huge springboard for the many cartoonists and animators who would later become famous in their own right.
The complete series of The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse comes to dvd on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. This is great news for us 80's fans!! Long live the 80's!!

The infamous "flower petal-sniffing flower girl" scene is probably left intact...with a commentary track most likely.
That was the scene that brought infamy to the show with Christian watchdog group leader Rev. Donald Wildmon alleging that the flower girl was sniffing cocaine to break her out of her depression in the story. CBS removed the scene in reruns and pretty much spelled the demise of the show on the Saturday AM schedule. _________________ "Over one thousand served"

Oh, this is really wonderful news. I have very fond memories of lazy Saturdays with my girlfriend at the time... coffee and breakfast in bed accompanied by PeeWee's Playhouse and the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, one after the other.
Good times. I'm totally adding this to my Amazon.com wish list, toot sweet!
Oh -- can anyone confirm that the line "You can't use logic with a crustacean!" came from TNAoMM? Or was that one of the Tick's wise observations..? Thanks! _________________ Matthew Wayne Selznick

I hope that the producers and distributors of "The New Adventures Of Mighty Mouse"
will not edited these films..including the last episode..
Where the stupid, biased censors claimed that he was sniffing coke.
The films should be seen by the fans and the fans should be allowed to
judge the films on their own.

The line was actually "Hmm! Force doesn't work on a crustacean!", which became the title of the first Power Salad album "Force Doesn't Work on a Crustacean"..It is from "The Littlest Tramp" when MM is helping the Hibernian (?!) ants on the beach being attacked by the crab. It is at the end of this scene when MM snorts - erm, sniffs the crushed flower. My comedy friends and I were all about 24-26 at the time and when we saw this episode and that line happened, we all looked at each other and went "Whooooooooaaaaaaaaa".....MM:TNA was most definitely a huge influence, in fact one of the tracks on the first album is an instrumental called "Theme from Ralph-Man".
WooHoo!!!!
