"Trust Agents" - Chris Brogan and Julien Smith. So far, about halfway in, it's very validating and reassuring to see them articulate most of the intuitive feelings I've had about community, connection and conversation in the 21st century. Highly recommended. _________________ Matthew Wayne Selznick

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, not as tantalizing as The Davinci Code, but a good read. _________________ Well behaved women rarely make history-Lauren Thatcher Ulrich

Just finished THE CHILDREN OF MU by James Churchward, a quasi-mystical book from 1930 claiming the first civilization was a group of blue-eyed blondes who had airships and high tech before recorded history, but their continent sank and now the only people who remember them are Tibetan lamas.

Finished CHILDREN OF MU, moved on to THE MASTER KEY by L. Frank Baum. One of his lesser-known non-Oz books for kids. In it, a boy (Named Rob, after Baum's son) accidentally summons a sort of genie of electricity who gives him a bunch of high-tech gadgets (Remember, this was written in 1901) and he goes off on neat adventures.
It's not one of his best works --Baum was never too good with plotting and Rob, frankly, is kind of a jerk-- but it's certainly an amusing curio. |
