Showdown! Which of these two performers do you prefer?
Posted: Mon Nov 02, 2009 7:44 pm Central Time
Out of these two rockin'-rollin' gents, who would
Win a BEAUTY contest against each other
Win a SINGING contest against each other
Win an INSTRUMENT PLAYING contest against each other
and who would kick whose tush overall:
THIS FELLOW:

OR THIS FELLOW:

I would go with the former. Though I like some of the latter's tunes, I just find the first guy more appealing all around, aesthetically and musically.
OK, what about you folks? What's your opinion? Discuss. |

I don't like Elton John....period (save for one or two random songs), so I gotta give everything to Bowie. At least I like him.... |

I'd put anything either one of these guys produced in the early to late seventies head to head, equals. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is an amazing album -- came out the same year as "Alladin Sane," another masterwork.
Can't choose!

My nod goes to Elton. Much more versitility in his music; Bowie is almost one dimensional. _________________ The spammers are taking over.

i'm in bowie's court. elton has some nice music, but "life on mars?", "space oddity", and "the man who sold the world" blow me away. the man has an amazing voice in my opinion. _________________ can't talk now, the ninjas are watching me think.

Elton John and David Bowie are both talented in their own right and their own way, and The Knight (read: Elton) has done some very good stuff, but in my opinion, nothing Sir Elton did, in all his years of musicianship, could ever compare with the Berlin Trilogy of recordings Mr. Bowie released in the mid-to-late 70s. Even if The Gentleman (read: Bowie) never released another snippet of music after 1979, he will always be remembered for those three sensational albums -- or he should be -- and for the equally enchanting Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane.
Plus, I think Bowie is a much better looking man than Elton. |

Bowie was and is an all-time favorite of mine (and my wife). I really wish he'd go back on tour again. He (and his band) really put on a good show. |

I love Elton John. Crocodile Rock is still one of my fave songs. _________________ Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. |

Can't stand Elton John. Give me Bowie anyday.
